How to import DWG file (mm) in 3ds Max (inches)

Hello Friends
Some of the Max users face this problem that is they make their drawing in mm units in Autocad and in 3ds Max they intend to work in feet and inches. What they have to do is  simply Rescale it in mm only not in inches from the Import dialog box in 3ds Max. Some users change the Rescale to feet and inches; which will make the drawing 25.4% larger than actual..So Rescale in mm only.

After importing you can set the system units to Feet w/fractional inches and My system unit setup is also set to inches.

Max File fails to open

Some of my Max friends have the problem of Max  file gets corrupted or file fails to open..I have two choices either  to merge it into an empty scene or look for an autoback file. And still if it does not get recovered,, You have lost your work :-(

Anyways for the future safety you guys can do one thing i.e save using the little + button on the "save as" function under the file menu. What this does is saves sequential Max files but just changes the number to the next in line. Now you will have many copies of a scene file and if the last file you were  working  on is corrupted, you  can a least get back to the file prior which has 95% of the work you were  working on anyway.
Good Luck

Chamfer option of Editable Spline

Chamfer option is much like the Fillet option except that the corners are replaced with straight line segments instead of smooth curves. It creates an angular corner on a spline and maintains hard corners. To use this command either drag on a vertex or enter a chamfer value.
