Toolbars

Hello Friends,

Today we’ll be taking a look at the different toolbars Max provides us. Max has many toolbars that provide single click access to features. But by default the main toolbar is visible. Using toolbar is one of the easy  way to execute command. This toolbar contains many tools and settings required to manipulate your scene with just a single click.
Let’s look at the tools displayed below the File menu, above the viewports.

Several additional toolbars are available as floating toolbars. We can access them by  choosing   Customize---Show UI---Show/Hide Floating Bar.
Keyboard shortcut to hide main  toolbar is Alt + 6

Viewports

Hello Friends,

Today, we'll just be taking a look at the four views you see  in the majority of the screen. When you first open the program, four default viewports ( top, side,  front & perspective) appear on the working area of the screen. Viewports display the scene from different angles. You can fill your screen with a single large viewport or set multiple viewports to track various aspects of your scene  and change the windows to display from the top, left, right, front, back, bottom, perspective, or any camera that you have set up in the scene. (you can get a more realistic idea of the final results as seen by a camera).

Actions take place only in active viewport.other viewports are only for observation or actions are tracked simultaneously in other viewports. The viewport with highlighted yellow border is active viewport.

System Requirements

Hello Friends,

For those who are new to max , I would like to make it sure that whether your computer meets the system requirements or not.

First of all lets start from 3ds max , It comes in 2 different versions :-32 bit version & 64 bit version. It is compatible to run on windows vista for both the 32-bit as well as the 64-bit version. And as far as windows xp professional is concerned, you’ll need service pack 2 or higher for the 32-bit version & windows xp professional 64-bit for the 64-bit version of the software. The type of hardware you are using will really have an impact on your speed within the software so the recommended processors are AMD Athlon@64 or higher or Intel Pentium@4 or higher etc., 2 to 4 GB RAM, 2 GB hard disk space, OpenGL-capable graphics card etc.
As my own experience, I used to feel blue & rendering would be just like playing hardball. Because it doesn’t matter how much hard work you put in, bottom line is rendering..

Signing off !!! Have a Good Day!

Architectural Animation

Hello

Some of my friends asked, “why use Max , what it is capable of & how it ‘ll be used in Architectural Animation.”

Well, 3ds Max is the largest selling 3D computer animation & rendering software in the world according to Autodesk reports.

Of course, Architectural Animation on its own is a very useful skill to learn; designers who can create 3D models of buildings from blueprints are nearly indispensable when it comes to planning construction. Details such as measurements, materials, and placements of beams, supports, windows, and other design elements can all be worked out very well in a three-dimensional environment.

Interior designers can use 3D animating skills to demonstrate potential room designs, furnishings, and color combinations. Wallpaper swatches can be tiled, curtain colors and textures changed, furniture moved, without even straining a muscle. Lights can be changed, windows adjusted....the possibilities are endless.

Overview of Max

Hello Friends,

Well, Let me give you an overview of Max i.e why we are going to use this program & what is our requirement.

Please read the following steps:-

1. Modelling :- What is the subject of our scene? Say, We wanna make some furniture model or whatever ,that will be the subject. And Max provides us with some geometry & shapes. We’ll create 3d objects, loft 2d shapes, do some modifications to make the model.

2. Change the appearance:- After the model is ready, we need to change its look by applying the appropriate material . Guyz it is the material only which will paint our scene with different textures, colors, transparency etc. And Max provides us with the material library.

3. Lighting & Camera :- Once the models are created, assembled, material assigned, We can add camera & lights to our scene.Light illuminates the scenes & improves realism. Cameras in Max have control similar to real world camers.

4. Animation:- To add motion to our scene Max has complete keyframe animation capabilities.

5. Rendering:- Finally ready to render the final output. It is the output technique with the help of which we can render the scene creating realistic effects by casting shadows, controlling background environment etc.

Well,Bye for now & Take care.

We were all beginners once but Separate your ego from your learning.

Hello Friends,

Well, Its so fascinating to create 3d models & give them realistic look by applying textures & materials & find satisfaction in the finished product..The official name of this software is 3dsMax i.e Three Dimensional Studio Max, but I call it as Max (ummm !!!!!!!!! sort of nickname). So our main aim of using this software is to produce Photo Realistic image & Please don’t feel like an animator in the beginning , just focus on creating a cool 3d model.. All the best, as from tomorrow onwards I’ll be teaching , well, “ not teaching” but sharing my knowledge with you guyz…

Introduction about 3ds Max

Hello Friends,

3D Animation & 3D modeling is the most happening and fast growing industry, The great challenge is learning...
3ds Max is one of the most powerful & popular 3d graphics program available today. It is used for a wide variety of commercial & artistic applications including Architecture, Computer games, Film Production, Web design, Medical & Scientific Visualization & Fine Art. We ‘ll focus on its architectural use. There is no linear way to learn ,here are atleast a dozen ways to do most things. And my aim is to explain the complex idea in simpler form so that you can find what you need & when you need it.

Quote of the day, “A proud man is always looking down on things and people; and, of course, as long as you're looking down, you can't see something that's above you.”

Have a good day!

Hello Friends,

If you TRY, you can do anything! It’s always been my belief that you cannot put information in other people's heads. If you find a way to show them something, they can use their own intelligence to learn. This is my approach to teaching, trying to be both informative while allowing the students to find their own way of learning. 3ds Max(for Architectural Visuliazation) is certainly challenging, but you can master it. Take every chance to improve it….....the opportunities are all around. While you are learning, give yourself time to play with this program, explore it, let the things blow up on you & you 'll learn from the experience.
Have fun with it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to the world of 3ds Max

Hello friends,
I have started this blog to share my views & knowledge about 3ds max(3d graphic animation software)for those who have the passion for learning. And working with 3d graphics is really fun & game."
For over 5 years, I’ve had the good fortune of learning from my clients and students, who come from , all age groups and all professions. I believe each of us is capable of learning anything, as long as we are motivated. In my opinion, there are no bad students; unfortunately, there are students who have been exposed to poor teaching. So if you’re having difficulty or anyone is making you feel inferior or incapable, take control of your learning and find another student or teacher who can explain things to you from a different perspective. Online learning is also great for this purpose, because you have so many great learning options.
